The best AI marketing tools for a startup with no marketing team
A startup with no marketing team does not need the most powerful tool. It needs the one that covers the job it is actually stuck on, at a price one person can carry, without putting anything out under its name that nobody read. 8 tools, ranked for that buyer.
marketinque wrote this list and is on it, at the position the criteria below put it. Every price was read from the vendor’s own pricing page on September 23, 2026. No affiliate links. What each plan costs side by side is in the pricing explainer, and how teams use these tools, with sources, in the AI marketing statistics.
How were these tools ranked?
- You can start today. This one is a gate: a tool you cannot sign up for this week ranks below every tool you can, whatever else it does.
- Fit: it does a job a founder with no marketing team is actually stuck on, and is plain about which job that is.
- Price for one person: what the entry plan costs, and how far the next plan jumps.
- Control: nothing goes out under your name that nobody read, or you can make it so without upgrading.
- Proof: the vendor shows customers, or a customer count, on its own site.

1. HubSpot: best for email, forms and a CRM in one place, starting free
HubSpot is where most B2B startups end up keeping their contacts, and its free tier is real: two users, forms, landing pages and 2,000 email sends a month. It belongs on an AI list because every plan includes the Breeze Assistant and Starter adds AI credits and a prospecting agent. But it is a system of record more than a marketer: it sends what you build and will not tell you what to build. Its content agent and social publishing start at Professional.
Where it is strong
- A usable free tier: 2 users, forms, 30 landing pages and 2,000 email sends a month.
- CRM, email, forms and ad audiences in one place; the whole Starter bundle costs the same per seat.
- The Breeze Assistant comes with every plan at no extra cost.
Where it falls short
- No social publishing and no content agent below Professional, which is $800 a month plus a $3,000 onboarding fee.
- It sends what you build; deciding what to build is still yours.
- The low Starter price is a limited-time offer for new customers; the list price is $20 per seat.
- Price
- Free for up to 2 users, with 2,000 email sends a month. Marketing Hub Starter lists at $20 per seat a month, offered to new customers at $7 billed yearly or $10 monthly, with 1,000 marketing contacts. Professional is $800 a month plus a $3,000 onboarding fee. (pricing page)
- Goes live without you?
- No. It sends the emails you build and schedule. There is no social publishing below Professional, and no approval workflow below Enterprise.
2. Buffer: best for posting to LinkedIn, X and the rest every week, on a free plan
Buffer is a scheduler first. In its own words it is “not an AI tool”: only the writing assistant uses AI. For a founder whose marketing is showing up on LinkedIn and X every week, that is the right shape. The free plan covers three channels with the assistant included, and nothing posts unless you put it in the queue. It will not tell you what to post, or do anything off social.
Where it is strong
- The free plan covers 3 channels and includes the AI Assistant without limits.
- Publishes to 11 networks, LinkedIn, X, Bluesky and Threads among them.
- Built for founders in its own words, with 50% off for a year for early-stage startups.
- Publishes its own numbers: 81,635 customers on an open dashboard.
Where it falls short
- Social only: no email, SEO, outbound or plan.
- The assistant cannot read URLs, and Buffer tells you to fact-check what it writes.
- Upgrading charges for every channel, including the three that were free.
- Price
- Free for 3 channels. Essentials $6 per channel a month ($5 billed yearly); Team $12 ($10 yearly) adds approvals. Early-stage startups get 50% off for 12 months. (pricing page)
- Goes live without you?
- No. A post goes out when you schedule it; the AI Assistant only drafts. Approval workflows for teammates are on Team.
3. Averi: best for SEO and AI-search content published to your own site
Averi is the closest thing here to a content marketer for hire. It builds a topic plan from your site, drafts articles scored for Google and AI answers, and publishes them to Webflow, Framer or WordPress. It is written for exactly this buyer, seed to Series A B2B, and goes deep on one job rather than wide across many.
Where it is strong
- Built for B2B startups, in its own words.
- A live SEO and AI-search score on every draft, with the fix for each point lost.
- Publishes to your CMS and tracks Search Console, GA4 and AI referrals in one place.
Where it falls short
- Content only: it drafts LinkedIn posts and emails, but publishes only to your site.
- No free plan: $99 a month after the trial.
- Several parts are marked beta or coming soon, the Agency plan and a collaborative editor among them.
- Price
- Solo $99 a month; Team $199 for up to 3 teammates. 14-day free trial, billed monthly. (pricing page)
- Goes live without you?
- Only if you set it to. It publishes to your CMS with scheduling and auto-publish; the vendor describes human review at every step that matters.
4. Regie.ai: best for doing your own outbound: finding accounts, emailing and calling
Regie.ai is a sales tool, and a good one for the founder who is the sales team. It finds and ranks accounts, enriches contacts with mobile numbers, drafts email in your voice, sends it from your own Gmail or Outlook, and runs a parallel dialer. It does not do marketing: no content, SEO or community. It covers one channel very well.
Where it is strong
- Free to start, $49 a month for one person.
- Contact data, email and a dialer in one workspace, with do-not-call checks.
- Outreach triggered by signals such as funding rounds and new executives.
Where it falls short
- Outbound only; no marketing channels.
- Workflows can send on their own, so control is a setting you have to get right.
- LinkedIn steps are manual tasks, and HubSpot is the only CRM on the self-serve plans.
- Price
- Free with 250 one-time credits; Pro $49 a month ($41 billed yearly) with 5,000 credits; Enterprise custom. (pricing page)
- Goes live without you?
- It can. Each workflow is set to send on its own from your inbox, or to hold drafts for your review.
5. Blaze.ai: best for social content written and posted for you
Blaze.ai is the most hands-off tool here. It writes a weekly batch of posts, images and short videos and publishes them to your connected accounts on its own. That is the point of it, and also why it ranks where it does for this buyer: a founder’s name is on everything it posts, and the review step that stops a post is on the $149 plan.
Where it is strong
- Writes, schedules and posts across 11 or more channels with no copy-paste.
- Generates images, Reels, Shorts and AI video, and runs Meta ad campaigns.
- Claims more than 130,000 customers, and offers a done-for-you managed tier.
Where it falls short
- Posts go live by default; approvals are on Growth only.
- Built for small businesses on social and local channels more than for B2B funnels.
- Credits do not roll over, and generation stops at zero.
- Price
- Starter $79 a month, Growth $149, All-In-One $999 managed. 7-day free trial, no card. (pricing page)
- Goes live without you?
- Yes, by default. Auto-publishing is on unless you turn it off; an Approvals step exists on Growth.
6. Copy.ai: best for an AI writing assistant for a small team
At $29 a month Copy.ai is a capable writing assistant for up to five people, with OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini models in one seat. Its real product is the workflow platform above that, which starts at $1,000 a month and is built for sales and marketing teams at scale. A founder with no team gets the chat and little of what the company is building.
Where it is strong
- Five seats and unlimited chat for $29 a month.
- Brand Voice and a stored Infobase of company facts.
- Workflows with CRM write-back, if you grow into them.
Where it falls short
- Nothing between $29 and $1,000 a month.
- It writes; deciding what to write, and where, is still yours.
- Its help center says the free plan was sunset.
- Price
- Chat $29 a month ($24 billed yearly) for 5 seats; the next plan, Growth, is $1,000 a month billed yearly. (pricing page)
- Goes live without you?
- No native posting to social channels; outputs go to people, or into sales tools you connect.
7. Jasper: best for on-brand content once you have a brand to protect
Jasper is built for marketing teams. Brand voices, audiences and product knowledge feed every draft, and more than a hundred agents cover marketing workflows. On Pro it is a solid on-brand writer for one person, but what sets it apart, custom agents, GEO and research agents and the API, sits on Business, sold by call on a yearly contract.
Where it is strong
- Brand voice, audiences and product knowledge applied to every draft, even on Pro.
- Works inside Google Docs and Webflow and exports to Drive, SharePoint and more.
- Pro is self-serve and monthly, with cancel anytime.
Where it falls short
- One seat on Pro; a second person means Business, through sales.
- No free plan: $59 to $69 a month for one seat.
- GEO and research agents, Studio and the API are Business-only.
- Price
- Pro $69 per seat a month, or $59 billed yearly; Business is custom, on a 12-month commitment. 7-day free trial, no free plan. (pricing page)
- Goes live without you?
- No. It prepares content for people to publish or export; approving outputs stays with you.
8. marketinque: best for planning and drafting the whole funnel, with nothing sent without your say-so
marketinque is the only tool here that plans across the whole funnel rather than one channel: a launch plan with prerequisites, 48 channels, and one queue where every publish, send and dollar waits for your say-so. On fit alone it would sit near the top of this list. It ranks last because it fails the first criterion, since projects still open by waitlist, and it has no public customers yet to vouch for it. We wrote this list, so that is the least the placement owes you.
Where it is strong
- $0 for now, and the launch plan and backlink index work today with no account.
- Autonomy is granted per action and earned, never switched on wholesale; spend always asks.
- Covers content, social, outbound, directories and launch steps in one queue.
Where it falls short
- Projects open by waitlist: you cannot start one today.
- No public customers yet.
- No scheduler, no image generation and no team seats, and drafting needs your own Claude Code or API key.
- Price
- $0 for now. The MCP server’s free tier needs no account; projects open by waitlist. Drafting runs on your own Claude Code or API key. (pricing page)
- Goes live without you?
- Not by default: everything waits for your yes. Per action you can grant a veto window, or let an action run on its own once it has earned it and marketinque posts it through an API (Bluesky, dev.to, your Discord, your blog). Spend always asks; elsewhere you post the approved draft.
Common questions
What is the best AI marketing tool for a startup with no marketing team?
No single tool covers it yet. By this list’s criteria, start with HubSpot’s free tools as the place your contacts and email live, then add one tool for the job you are actually stuck on: Buffer for posting to social every week, Averi for SEO and AI-search content, Regie.ai for outbound. Blaze.ai suits founders who are happy for social posts to go out on their own. marketinque plans and drafts across the whole funnel with every send held for approval, but its projects open by waitlist.
Which AI marketing tools are free?
As of September 23, 2026: HubSpot’s free tools (2 users, 2,000 email sends a month), Buffer’s free plan (3 channels, AI Assistant included), Regie.ai’s Free plan (250 one-time credits) and marketinque, $0 for now with projects by waitlist. Blaze.ai, Averi and Jasper offer free trials rather than free plans.
Which AI marketing tools post or send without you?
Blaze.ai publishes to your social accounts by default, with an approval step on its $149 Growth plan. Regie.ai workflows can send email on their own if set to, and Averi can auto-publish to your CMS. Buffer, HubSpot, Copy.ai and Jasper publish or send only what you build, schedule or export. marketinque asks for every item by default and lets you grant autonomy per action; spend always asks.
How were the prices checked?
Each price was read from the vendor’s own pricing page on September 23, 2026, never from a review site or another roundup. Two are worth knowing: HubSpot’s Starter price is a limited-time offer for new customers, and Copy.ai goes from $29 to $1,000 a month with no plan between.
