How much do AI marketing tools cost?
For a startup, most AI marketing tools start free or at $29 to $99 a month for one person. Team plans run $149 to $199 a month. Tools built for a marketing department start around $800 to $1,000 a month, often billed yearly or with a $3,000 onboarding fee.
Every price below was read on the vendor’s own pricing page on September 23, 2026. Prices change; each row links to the page it came from. marketinque is one of the tools listed, and it is free for now, which is exactly why this page is written from other people’s price lists.

What makes an AI marketing tool cost more?
- Seats
- Per-seat pricing is the most common model. A plan that looks cheap for one founder doubles when a second person needs to log in, so price it for the team you will have in six months, not today.
- Credits and usage
- Several tools meter the AI itself: a monthly allowance of credits or words, and a plan jump when you run out. A free plan with one-time credits is a trial, not a free plan.
- Channels
- Schedulers charge per connected channel. Three channels free and a few dollars per channel after that stays cheap for a founder on LinkedIn and X; it adds up for a team on every network.
- Managed service
- The top tier of several tools is people, not software: a managed plan where the vendor runs the work for you. That is where prices jump from hundreds to around a thousand a month.
- Commitment
- Yearly billing buys a discount of roughly one sixth. Enterprise and business plans often require a 12-month commitment or an onboarding fee on top of the monthly price.
When is the cheap option enough?
A free or entry plan is enough when most of these are true:
- You post on one or two networks and mostly need the posts written and scheduled.
- One person does the marketing and will for the next six months.
- You already know what to publish; you need drafting and consistency, not a strategy.
- Your email list is small enough to live inside a free CRM tier.
Pay for more when the bottleneck is deciding what to do next, not writing it: that is the part the entry plans leave to you.
Questions
Is there a free AI marketing tool that is actually usable?
Yes, for narrow jobs. HubSpot’s free tier covers two users, forms, landing pages and 2,000 email sends a month, and Buffer’s free plan covers three social channels with its AI writing assistant. Free plans that come with a fixed number of one-time AI credits are trials: useful for judging the output, not for running marketing on.
Why do some AI marketing tools cost $1,000 a month?
Because at that tier you are buying either a platform meant for a marketing department, with onboarding and a yearly contract, or a managed service where the vendor’s people do the work. A founder without a marketing team rarely needs either before there is a proven channel to scale.
Should I pay monthly or yearly?
Monthly until you know the tool fits. Yearly billing saves roughly one sixth on the tools that offer it, but a year is a long time to pay for software you stopped opening in week three.
What does marketinque cost?
Nothing for now: both tiers are $0 while projects open by waitlist, and no card is asked for. If you connect Claude Code over MCP, the drafting runs on the Claude subscription you already pay for.
