AI Marketing Agent

Software that takes a marketing goal and works toward it in steps: it keeps a plan, picks the next task, researches, drafts, and, where it is allowed to, publishes, sends or spends, instead of answering one prompt at a time.

By The Marketinque TeamReviewed June 2026

The difference from an AI writing tool is who decides what happens next. A writing tool waits for a prompt and returns a draft. An agent holds the goal, a list of what is done and what is not, and the tools to act: search, a CMS, a scheduler, an email service, an ad account. It chooses the next task itself and comes back with the work, or with the thing already out in the world.

In practice most of the work is unglamorous: reading the product and its competitors, keeping a calendar, drafting posts, articles, emails and directory listings, and reporting what moved. SaaStr described building an AI VP of Marketing that works this way, planning and producing across channels with people reviewing the output. The drafting is the cheap part. The expensive part is anything that leaves the building under your name.

So the question to ask of any AI marketing agent is what it can do without you: publish, send, spend, reply. Buyers already check what AI tells them before they trust it, and a wrong post or an unwanted email costs more than it saves. Governed autonomy is one answer: each action waits for a person until it has earned the right not to. marketinque is an agent built that way, and the roundup of AI marketing tools compares it with the others, including where each is the better choice.

worked example

Given "get our first 100 signups", an agent reads the product site, drafts ten directory listings and three LinkedIn posts, and puts them in a queue. The founder approves eight, edits two, and the agent submits and schedules them and reports which ones brought visits a week later.
